DESCRIPTION:This event will lead you through principles\, frameworks and i
 deas about some skills for researchers who are looking for industrial fund
 ing – who to target\, how to get the first pitch right\, how to sell in 
 complex organisations in a lively and interactive day that will include ma
 ny tips\, sharing of experience and enthusiastic discussions.\n\nIn a very
  practical sessions you will develop and deliver an elevator pitch and dis
 cuss what works and what didn’t.  In the past\, several key messages eme
 rged\; the importance of finding a gripping example that engages your audi
 ence\, having a phrase that summarises the pitch\, communicating commitmen
 t and credibility – and being clear about what you want next!\n\nThe aft
 ernoon sessions build on the elevator pitches with sales role-plays.  Team
 s of researchers meet with teams acting as industrialists and bringing ins
 ights to life with input from researchers who have built real experience o
 f how their propositions will sell and to whom.\n
