DESCRIPTION:The last years have seen an increasing interest of the lattice
  community towards the\nphenomenology of the charm quark\, following a flo
 urishing period in which experiments have\ndiscovered new features of char
 med hadrons\, such as the neutral D mesons mixing\, an\nunexpected amount
 of CP-violation in D0->KK/PP decays\, and the existence of X\, Y and Z\nst
 ates not explicable in the context of quark models. The recently-opened po
 ssibility of\nconsidering physical-mass charm quarks in lattice simulation
 s granted theoretical\nphysicists a powerful tool to study the properties
 of the charm quark from the first\nprinciple of the theory with unpreceden
 ted precision.\nIn this talk I will discuss the way in which modern lattic
 e QCD methods can provide handles\nto perform tighter tests on the flavour
  sector of the Standard Model and unveil the\npossible presence of New Phy
 sics through the study of leptonic & semileptonic decays of D\nmesons\, an
 d radiative decays of the charmonia system.
