DESCRIPTION:The Department spends a significant amount of time and resourc
 e on teaching undergraduates in all 3 years of their degree. The start of 
 the academic year provides an opportunity for the Teaching team to share o
 ur successes and present innovations in our teaching for the new year. New
  resources such as pre-laboratory exercises and videos will be presented\,
  as well as the new Virtual Learning Environment Moodle. As part of my wor
 k on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning\, I will also present the re
 sults of a pilot study into how students engage with the scientific litera
 ture\, which may challenge our assumptions of how we are training the next
  generation of Plant Scientists.
