DESCRIPTION:Sudden Oak Death is a disease that affects many species of tre
es and other plants in the UK and was first discovered on our shores in th
e early 2000s. It has had a particularly significant (and devastating) eff
ect on larch trees in the west of the UK. National scale management and in
tervention plans have been in place for several years which have been info
rmed by modelling. I will present the latest findings from this project wh
ich look at how the disease has been modelled\; where it is predicted to s
pread to\; and what possible interventions options are financially viable.
