DESCRIPTION:I consider the normative question 'Should the concept of\ncaus
 ation be used in the sciences?' from within a manipulationist framework. I
 n particular\, I will explore three distinct reasons why manipulationists 
 of different stripes (i.e. interventionists and agency theorists) might be
  compelled to answer this question in the negative.
