DESCRIPTION:Prof. Jeremy Baumberg (Director of the Nanophotonics Centre) a
 nd Dr. Nicholoas Hine (research fellow in 'Theory of condensed matter' gro
 up) will give an introduction to nanotechnology. This is the first talk of
  the year for our society\, and will serve to welcome new members and prov
 ide an introduction to the field. Attendants are encouraged to ask questio
 ns\, and there will be an opportunity to mingle with the other attendants 
 over drinks/snacks.
