DESCRIPTION:Life-logging wrist bands\, light-emitting textiles\, intellige
 nt ear pieces\, insole sensors\, electronic jewellery\, multi-sensing glov
es\, electronic smart plasters are a few examples of devices falling under
the category of “wearable technology”. \n\nThis talk will provide a s
hort introduction to “wearables” and present some of the challenges as
sociated with making body-conformable electronic devices. Flexible and str
etchable electronics technologies – including printed electronics for lo
w-cost fabrication - will be introduced and novel approaches for device as
sembly will be discussed. \n\nNokia’s recently published research work o
n flexible/stretchable electronics will be presented including a case stud
y demonstrating a conformable multisensory device\, which is fabricated us
ing scalable printing and flex-on-flex integration methods.
