DESCRIPTION:This session introduces the statistical techniques of Explorat
ory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) is
used to uncover the latent structure (dimensions) of a set of variables.
It reduces the attribute space from a larger number of variables to a smal
ler number of factors. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) examines whether
collected data correspond to a model of what the data are meant to measur
 e. AMOS will be introduced as a powerful tool to conduct confirmatory fact
or analysis. Understanding CFA also builds a strong foundation for the sub
sequent SEM session. Please bring your own data or research design and we
will discuss possible structures and analytic techniques for your own work
