DESCRIPTION:Julian Conrad will be presenting his work on the structure of
the DNA Replication Machinery.\n\nCopying the potential genetic informatio
n prior to cell division is important in order for life to continue. The p
rocess called DNA replication is mediated by a specific machinery: the DNA
polymerase holoenzyme.\n\nRecent advances in electron cryo-microscopy mad
e it possible to determine its structure\, shining new light on how the po
lymerase is activated by its partner proteins and providing a mechanism on
how the polymerase is released at the end of the process.\n
