DESCRIPTION:Suppose that we have a sequence (with some nice properties) of
  smooth projective varieties and would like to think about its "limit". On
 e way to do so is by considering the limit as an algebraic degeneration (f
 lat limit)\, but we can also think about the limit as a metric space (Grom
 ov-Hausdorff limit)\, by recalling that a smooth projective variety can be
  endowed with a Riemannian structure. Donaldson and Sun proved\, under som
 e technical hypotheses\, that these limits are "equal". The aim of this ta
 lk is to briefly review this result\, starting with the definition of Grom
 ov-Hausdorff limit.
