SUMMARY:Fronto-subcortical Circuits in Cognition &amp\; Emotion: Modulatio
n by Serotonin\, Dopamine and Glutamate - Dr Hannah Clarke\, Department of

DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nDr Clarke is interested in how different brain area
s\, and the neurochemicals within them\, modulate cognitive and emotion pr
ocessing. She focuses particularly on structures that show disruption in
human psychiatric disease\, such as the orbitofrontal cortex\, the ventrol
ateral prefrontal cortex and the medial prefrontal cortex\,\nusing behavio
 ural\, neuroimaging and neurochemical techniques. \n\nSpeaker website:\nh

th First Class Honours in Neuroscience from the University of Wales\, Card
iff. She earned her PhD in 2005 working with Professor Trevor Robbins (Psy
chology) and Professor Angela Roberts (PDN) on the role of serotonin in th
e prefrontal cortex. Dr Clarke is currently a Junior Research Fellow at Ne
wnham\, and earned an MRC Career Development Award in 2011. She currently
investigates serotoninergic modulation of hippocampal-prefrontal ciruitry
 in the regulation of emotion.
