DESCRIPTION:The STFC has a number of schemes which fund translational R&D 
 linking STFC-funded research with other areas. Dr Vlad Skarda (STFC Extern
 al Innovations) will describe these schemes and answer questions.  The Com
 putational Radiotherapy group (Cavendish HEP and Oncology) successfully ap
 plied for one of these grants for Accel-RT (www.accel-rt.org\, 3 years\, 
 £450k in total). Michael Simmons (Cavendish Laboratory research facilitat
 or) will briefly describe the process. Support for proposal preparation wi
 ll be provided following the talk through Michael Simmons  and colleagues.
