DESCRIPTION:Professor Robert Katz\n(University of Maine at Augusta)\n\nin 
 conversation with\n\nDr Aaron Rosen\n(King's College London)\n\nKatz will 
 speak about his practice as a sculptor\, and show selections from his film
  Were the House Still Standing: Maine Survivors and Liberators Remember th
 e Holocaust (2004)\, followed by Q&A.\n\nKatz is an installation artist an
 d sculptor who works mostly in welded steel. His art has been featured in 
 exhibitions throughout the USA and he has served as a visiting artist at n
 umerous universities. Katz is the designer of the outdoor sculpture\, Dwel
 ling of Remembrance: A Holocaust Memorial  in Scarsdale\, New York as well
  as the Slivka Holocaust Memorial in Portland\, Maine.  His presentations 
 and film projects have been featured at international conferences in Polan
 d\, Canada\, China\, Israel and England.  Katz grew up in New York City an
 d received his Bachelor of Arts from NYU and his MFA from the University o
 f Montana.  He is a Professor of Art at the University of Maine at Augusta
  where he teaches courses in sculpture\, design and drawing. Katz has most
  recently organized an international symposium\, Exploring Women’s Testi
 mony:  War\, Revolution\, Genocide.
