SUMMARY:Creating transparent intact animal organs for high-resolution 3D d
eep-tissue imaging - Keith Siew (Centre for Clinical Investigation)\, Fili
 pe Lourenco (Cancer Research UK)

DESCRIPTION:Light microscopy techniques remain limited in their ability to
penetrate and image intact vertebrate tissues/organs due to the opacity c
reated by light scattering as it passes through multiple lipid and water l
ayers. The speakers will present novel techniques to preserve\, optically
clear\, stain and image whole intact organs and will demonstrate how the a
pplication of these techniques can be used to investigate different biolog
ical systems.\n\nThere will be free pizza\, beer and wine!\nThe session is
open to all staff and students in the university. Everyone is welcome!\n\
