DESCRIPTION:This will be an introduction to the concept of a topos\, hopef
 ully accessible to Part III students who have been following the Category 
 Theory lecture course. Topos theory is both a bit like set theory and logi
 c and a bit like geometry and topology - this interplay is what makes the 
 subject so fascinating. I will try to give some intuition for toposes by c
 omparing the senses in which they are universes of sets and categories of 
 spaces.
