DESCRIPTION:In recent years many simulations have explored the star format
ion\nprocess in molecular clouds. However\, most of them use turbulent\nsp
heres/boxes\, or colliding flows as initial conditions. These setups\nlack
the complexity of the galactic conditions where the real clouds\nare crea
ted. We extract our clouds from galactic-scale simulations\,\nincrease the
ir resolution\, and resimulate them. We compare our\ngalactic clouds with
turbulent spheres. Our work indicates that\ndifferent kinematic properties
inherited from the galactic simulations\nhave an impact on the star forma
tion rate (even without implementing\nany feedback in the models). And the
refore the inherited velocity\nflows in a particular molecular cloud may b
 e important in defining its\nstar formation history.\n
