DESCRIPTION:Though it has taken more than eight years from the first indic
 ations that new nuclear build in the UK would be welcomed\, the prospects 
 for nuclear within a broad energy strategy in UK and elsewhere around the 
 world\, now look very promising. The talk discusses these plans and their 
 uncertainties based on common needs of countries to: address climate chang
 e\, have stable costs and secure energy supplies.\nThe revived interest in
  nuclear energy is also stimulating a range of new and different reactor d
 esigns\, including those with the aim of burning nuclear waste and reducin
 g costs.\n
