DESCRIPTION:Ensembl Plants is a genome centric platform for visualisation
and analysis of plant genomics data. It hosts assembly\, sequence\, expres
sion\, variation and comparative datasets for a growing number of plant sp
ecies (currently 38) covering a range of economically important crops\, in
 cluding sorghum\, brassica\, tomato\, barley\, potato\, rice\, wheat and m
aize\, and taxonomically diverse model organisms such as arabidopsis\, amb
orella\, chlamydomonas\, and physcomitrella. The web-based genome browser
visually integrates sequence and assembly information with genes\, markers
\, probes\, variations\, repeats and other public or user-supplied dataset
 s. It includes a web-based data mining tool\, allowing specific sets of da
ta to be queried and downloaded for offline analysis. In addition to the b
rowser\, all data can be accessed computationally via extensive Perl and R
EST APIs and is available for FTP download or direct database access. In a
ddition to the public datasets provided within the browser\, users can upl
oad or 'attach' various types of private data\, allowing your own annotati
on to be browsed in the context of the reference sequence and annotation.
