DESCRIPTION:The observation of a gamma-ray line would be a strong hint tow
ards the detection of dark matter (DM). We investigate the possibility tha
t such a line is produced through a slow DM decay. This can be studied in
a systematic and model-independent way through the derivation of the corre
sponding effective theory. We wrote down this effective theory for both ne
utral and millicharged DM candidates. The use of the effective theory allo
ws for a multi-channel analysis\, and in particular constraints on the pot
ential intensity of a line arise from the production of cosmic rays assoc
 iated to the line.
