ial planets\; Is giant planet migration necessary? - Prof. Nader Haghighip

DESCRIPTION:The question is whether the fact that Mars exist is a strong a
nd realistic evidence for the migration of giant planets as suggested by t
he Grand Tack model? And\, can Mars form without giant planet migration? T
he answer to the first question is a no and to the second question is\na y
es. I will present the recent developments on this topic and discuss model
s of terrestrial planet formation in which Mars can form with a small mass
and within the\ntime consistent with that suggested by cosmochemical stud
ies\, and without needing to drastically migrate the giant planets.
