DESCRIPTION:Today\, more people live in cities than in rural areas and\, b
y 2050\, this ratio is predicted to rise to 7 out of every 10 people. Can
we rethink how we design and live in cities? How will cities adapt to the
challenges facing them in the future? What new research and new connection
s would help us to prepare for these challenges?\n\nBetween October 2013 a
nd June 2014\, the Forum brought together a rich mixture of policy- and de
cision-makers from governments and business\, technical experts and resear
chers to talk about these questions and to make connections between differ
ent facets of sustainability and the environment in future cities and the
governance needed to support them. These ideas have been distilled into an
output and a panel of experts from the Forum will use this as starting po
int to talk about future research agendas related to where we live in citi
es\, how we live and how we respond to change. \n\nThe panel includes:\n\n

limate Change Mitigation Research\n* *Professor Koen Steemers*\, Professor
