DESCRIPTION:I will start by giving an introduction to the idea of a twisto
 r and its relationship to the geometry of null lines in four spacetime dim
 ensions. The properties of twistors are then exploited to give a descripti
 on of the classical bosonic string.  There is also a supersymmetric versio
 n of twistor that enable us to develop a description of the Green-Schwarz 
 superstring. The extension to six and possibly ten spacetime dimensions wi
 ll be briefly examined.
