DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the unprecedented photometric sensitivity of the Kep
ler space \ntelescope\, the past couple of years have witnessed the discov
ery of \nseveral circumbinary planets around main-sequence stars. All thes
e \nplanets have been detected using transit photometry\, and they seem to
\nshow certain dynamical characteristics. The models of the formation and
\nevolution of these planets that can account for their orbital \nconfigu
rations and dynamical behavior suggest that circumbinary planets \ncan exi
st in non-transiting orbits as well. The latter raises question \non the p
ossibility of the detection of these objects. I will review the \ncurrent
state of the detection of circumbinary planets and present the \nmost rece
nt models of their formation and dynamical evolution. I will \nalso discus
s methods of detecting non-transiting CBPs and their current \nprospects.
