DESCRIPTION:India is one of the oldest South-South development cooperation
  partners\, with a proud history of providing grants\, loans\, technical a
ssistance and diplomatic solidarity for decades. Like other Southern partn
ers\, the last decade could be seen as a very positive one for Indian deve
lopment cooperation (something explored through a framework of material\,
ideational and ontological successes). What then about the decade ahead? I
n this paper I will examine some of the challenges\, opportunities and unc
ertainties that lie ahead. Some are\, arguably\, inherent to all developme
nt partners\, some are specific to South-South/Indian discourses and modal
 ities.
