SUMMARY:Magnetic resonance in physics and engineering: Dynamics of solids
and fluids - Andy Sederman\, Department of Chemical Engineering\, Universi
 ty of Cambridge
DTSTART:20150305T160000Z

CONTACT:Stephen Walley
DESCRIPTION:Magnetic Resonance (MR) is increasingly being used to study st
ructure and flow in physical science and engineering due to its unique abi
lity to provide spatial\, temporal\, chemical and motion information from
optically opaque systems. This talk will introduce a range of MR applicati
ons and discuss how the measurement data can be sparsely sampled to increa
se imaging speed to investigate dynamic systems. The talk will also discus
s the application of MR to particle fluidised beds and how particle-solid
 interactions can be probed.
