  50-minute lectures to celebrate the first half-century of Wolfson College
 . In the series\, eleven distinguished members of the college reflect on d
 evelopments in their fields of expertise in the half-century since Wolfson
  was founded.\n\n_About the Lecture_\n\nSome fifty years ago the street\, 
 and what people were wearing in cities like London\, Amsterdam and New Yor
 k\,  became the main influence on High Fashion. Since then fashion develop
 ed into one of the most democratic ways of expressing ourselves. Nowadays 
 screens have taken over this influential role. What is the impact of this 
 change in fashion experience?\n\n_About the Lecturer_\n\nPauline Terreehor
 st was a Wolfson Press Fellow in 2000.  Educated in film theory\, literatu
 re and semiotics at the University of Amsterdam\, she taught at the Radbou
 d University in Nijmegen. She is currently the Director of Natlab\, a thea
 tre and arthouse in Eindhoven which is based at the former Physics Laborat
 ory of Philips. From 1985 to 2002 she was  Fashion Editor of the Dutch dai
 ly newspaper _de Volkskrant_ and has also been Director of the Amsterdam F
 ashion Institute (part of the University of Amsterdam) and of the Centraal
