DESCRIPTION:Two types of source tensor can appear on the right hand side o
f Einstein's gravitational field equations. One is a stress tensor for mat
ter. The other (which leads to higher-derivative corrections) is a tensor
obtained by variation of some gravitational invariant. But in three spacet
ime dimensions (3D) there is a ``third way''. Starting with ``Topologicall
y Massive Gravity'' (TMG) the 3rd way yields ``Minimal Massive Gravity''
(MMG)\, which resolves the holographic unitarity problem of TMG. Starting
with 3D Yang-Mills theory\, the 3rd way yields a new class of gauge theor
 ies.
