DESCRIPTION:About the author:\nKristin Roth-Ey (PhD Princeton University) 
 is a Lecturer in Russian History at the School of Slavonic and East Europe
 an Studies (UCL). She has published widely on Soviet mass media and its au
 dience. Her book Moscow Prime Time: How the Soviet Union Built the Media E
 mpire that Lost the Cultural Cold War (Cornell University Press\, 2011) ex
 plores the broadcasting and film industries\, and everyday consumers in th
 e Soviet Union from the end of World War II through the 1970s. In collabor
 ation with the Universities of Exeter\, Oxford\, Columbia\, Leipzig and Be
 lgrade\, and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences\, she is currently leading 
 the AHRC-funded project\, 'Socialism Goes Global: Cold War Connections Bet
 ween the ‘Second’ and ‘Third Worlds’ 1945-1991'.
