DESCRIPTION:Andy Neely from IfM Cambridge Service Alliance is going to sha
 re his research work and thinking in the manufacturing servitization area.
   The nature of manufacturing is changing. Increasingly manufacturers are 
 offering their customers services and solutions that either enhance or ext
 end their traditional product offerings. Drawing on a variety of research 
 studies completed by the Cambridge Service Alliance\, this presentation wi
 ll address five key questions: (i) what is servitization\; (ii) why is it 
 important for manufacturers\; (iii) what challenges do manufacturers face 
 as they seek to servitize\; (iv) what role does technology play in serviti
 zation\; and (v) what does the future hold for servitization?\n\nAndy is F
 ounding Director of the Cambridge Service Alliance external link and the R
 oyal Academy of Engineering Professor of Complex Services. He is widely re
 cognized for his work on the servitization of manufacturing\, as well as h
 is work on performance measurement and management. Previously he has held 
 appointments at Cranfield University\, London Business School\, Cambridge 
 University\, where he was a Fellow of Churchill College\, Nottingham Unive
 rsity\, where he completed his PhD and British Aerospace.  More informatio
