DESCRIPTION:Afonso Fleury from University of São Paulo\, Brazil\, and Mar
 ia Tereza Fleury\, from Fundacao Getulio Vargas\, are going to share their
  recent thoughts on international operations network design and implementa
 tioin.  One of the interesting research gaps between classical IB (Interna
 tional Business) and OM (Operations Management) is disconnection between p
 roduct production/supply networks and multinational corporations' governan
 ce/administration networks.  The seminar seeks to provide a new conceptual
  framework in order to integrate the two approaches together in the intern
 ational operations network design and operations.\n\nAfonso Fleury is a pr
 ofessor in the Production Engineering Department at the University of São
  Paulo. Maria Tereza is the Dean of Fundacao Getulio Vargas' business scho
 ol. They are also consultants to Brazilian public and private firms as wel
 l as subsidiaries of multinationals. They published on the topic widely in
 cluding Brazilian Multinationals (Cambridge University Press\, 2011) and T
 he Competitive Advantage of Emerging Market Multinationals (Cambridge Univ
 ersity Press\, 2013).  They are collaborating with IfM\, especially with C
 entre for International Manufacturing (CIM)\, for more than ten years.
