DESCRIPTION:Recent advances in genomics are transforming the ways we study
  and treat diseases.\n\nThe introduction of sequencing into local diagnost
 ic laboratories and the creation of automated tools to interpret newly seq
 uenced genomes hold great promise in the near future. We can diagnose pati
 ents faster\, prescribe more effective treatments\, and even develop new c
 ures. In order to do so\, disease mechanisms must be understood\, and this
  is an area where genomics can help us a lot. From there\, strategies to s
 earch potential cures for diseases span disciplines such as chemogenomics 
 and drug discovery. In essence\, these approaches aim to modulate the biol
 ogical function of disease targets using small molecules.\n\nWe will talk 
 about the applications of sequencing to disease diagnosis\, studying disea
 se mechanisms\, and searching for new drugs. Recent experimental and compu
 tational developments as well as challenges in the application of sequenci
 ng technologies in the clinic will be discussed.
