DESCRIPTION:Dr Joseph Conlon from the University of Oxford gives a talk on
  "axions" - see the abstract below for more details.\n\nAdmission is free

 rved after the talk.\n\n(Abstract:) This talk is about searches for dark s
 tuff: dark matter and dark radiation. Axions are possible new particles be
 yond the Standard Model which are good candidates for this dark stuff. Axi
 ons turn into photons within magnetic field and this talk will give some e
 xamples of this\, crossing from string theory to extra dimensions to X-ray
  astronomy to the power spectra of the magnetic field within galaxy cluste
 rs.
