DESCRIPTION:The study of superradiance in black hole spacetimes has a long
  tradition in the physics literature. A superradiant black hole can radiat
 e “energy” through the horizon\, which possibly causes instabilities. 
 I will give an overview of results about (massive) wave equations in some 
 black hole spacetimes and I will describe how superradiance manifests itse
 lf on the level of these equations. In particular\, I will discuss exponen
 tially growing finite energy solutions to the Klein-Gordon equation. I sha
 ll try to keep this talk on an accessible level\, avoiding technical detai
 ls.
