DESCRIPTION:Intensity interferometry (Hanbury Brown - Twiss effect) is an\
ninteresting and useful concept that is usually presented as a\nmanifestat
ion of the quantum statistics of indistinguishable\nparticles. By exploiti
ng possibilities for projection and\nentanglement\, we can substantially w
iden the scope of its central\nidea\, removing the requirement of indistin
guishability. We thereby\npotentially gain access to a host of new observa
bles\, including subtle\npolarization correlations and entanglement itself
. Our considerations\nalso shed light on the physical significance of supe
 rselection.
