DESCRIPTION:Group 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3) are defined by the expres
sion of RORγt\, which is selectively required for their development. ILC3
produce IL-22 and other pro-inflammatory cytokines and contribute to the
defense against extracellular bacteria and Candida sp. Here we will discus
s our findings on the characterization of human ILC3 and the signals drivi
ng their activation and differentiation. Moreover\, we will discuss the re
cent identification of the lineage-specified progenitor cells of human ROR
γt+ ILC3 and their developmental site after birth remain. \n
