DESCRIPTION:At this session we will give an overview of Variable Rate Sequ
 ential \nMonte Carlo and its application to the task of jointly transcribi
 ng and \ntempo tracking in musical audio. Results on real and synthetic da
 ta will \nbe presented which show a the good tracking ability of these alg
 orithms \nin this problem domain and future work looking at improvements t
 o the \ntechnique and extensions into polyphony will be discussed
