DESCRIPTION:The 2nd Annual China Goes Global lecture\, sponsored by CRCC A
 sia and the Kirkwood Family Foundation\, will be delivered by Rob Gifford\
 , correspondent of The Economist and until recently\, the magazine's China
  Editor.\n\nRob first went to China in 1987 as a twenty-year old language 
 student and has spent much of the past two decades studying\, visiting\, a
 nd reporting on the country. Before joining The Economist in 2011\, he was
  a correspondent for the American broadcaster NPR\, based in Beijing and S
 hanghai\, and before that worked for the BBC World Service. In 2007 he pub
 lished his first book\, China Road: A Journey into the Future of a Rising 
 Power. The book recounts a 3\,000-mile journey he made from Shanghai to th
