DESCRIPTION:Events in Greece sparked off the euro-zone crisis in 2009 and
continued to have a dominant influence on the course of the crisis ever si
nce. The paper considers the dominant narrative concerning the relationshi
p between Greece and the eurozone crisis and compares it with an alternati
ve narrative. According to the alternative narrative although the euro-zon
e crisis is a crisis of public indebtedness is not\, as is commonly portra
yed\, a fiscal crisis. The paper concludes that debates on Grexit are a bi
g digression. The survival of the euro-zone is vital if the dream of a uni
ted Europe is to be fulfilled but it must be a reformed euro-zone that has
a clear vision of what unity in Europe means. \n\n\nBiography\n\nDr Yia
