DESCRIPTION:Engineering industries require evermore capable and efficient 
 turbulence modelling for CFD analysis of complex applications. At Universi
 ty of Manchester\, various shortfalls of turbulence models are investigate
 d and flow features which can be a challenge to capture with conventional 
 models are identified as a focus point for further investigations. In the 
 first part of this presentation some novel contributions to RANS turbulenc
 e modelling from University of Manchester\, which are now incorporated int
 o industrial software\, will be presented. The latter part will be focusin
 g on motorsport applications as a case study to elaborate on the research 
 method undertaken to improve RANS modelling.
