DESCRIPTION:The Internet is full of cults of personality - the father of
the Internet\, the Internet Architect\, and so on\, all are titles assigne
d to famous researchers.\n\nThe reality is that architecture is an emergen
t property of collective research. In this talk\, I will discuss the emerg
ence of the Internet architecture as an example\, and then talk about the
work in the EU\nHaggle project\, where we have specified a system \,but no
t an architecture\, so that users (in our case\, application developers an
d contributers to the project) can add functionality - eventually\, we bel
ieve\, we may identify the architecure for Opportunistic Networking as if
recognizing the dog in the leaves.
