DESCRIPTION:Darwin was right\; it is the only game in town. That does not
 mean\, however\, that there aren't topics that are long over-due for re-ex
amination. Let's call them "myths". Not fairy-tales\, but areas of receive
d wisdom where everybody nods and says "Yes\, yes\; couldn't agree more".
What about mass extinctions? Do they radically re-direct the course of evo
lution or in fact accelerate the inevitable? Extraterrestrials? Two a penn
y\, so we are confidently told\; if so why the Great Silence (aka Fermi's
Paradox)? As somebody once said\, you really must be very careful when you
  step out of your door....
