DESCRIPTION:Celebrated Darwin scholar James Moore goes beyond 19th century
evolution to examine the work of R. A. Fisher\, the man hand-picked by Da
rwin relatives to lead the Eugenics Education Society in 1911\, whose synt
hesis of biometrics and Mendelian views of inheritance formed the basis of
neo-Darwinian theory in the early 20th century. In his work "R. A. Fishe
r: a faith fit for eugenics\," Moore considers the character which allowe
d Fisher to pursue his eugenic theories in the face of academic and scient
 ific controversy.
