DESCRIPTION:My talk suggests ways to write an account of B. R. Ambedkar’
  political thought that acknowledges both his under-acknowledged centralit
 y to modern Indian sociopolitical thought\, and his role as a global think
 er of social inequality and dehumanization. I will focus on how this might
  warrant rethinking the project of global intellectual history and studies
  of subaltern thought. I will do so by exploring the relationship between 
 the keywords “democracy\,” “minority\,” and “history” as a sig
 nificant node in Ambedkar’s thought.
