DESCRIPTION:The Bowie Lab studies ionotropic glutamate receptors and GABAA
  receptors which are widespread in the developing and adult brain. Structu
 re-function studies are performed to identify the molecular events respons
 ible for receptor activation and to develop novel therapeutic compounds. S
 tudies in brain tissue are performed to understand how these receptor fami
 lies shape neuronal circuits in health and disease.
