DESCRIPTION:Suspensions of colloidal particles are widely studied as proto
 typical\nsystems displaying self-assembly. Here I demonstrate how induced\
ndielectric effects\, realized through coatings and controlled by external
\nfields\, result in unexpected and until now unexplored aggregation and\n
phase behavior. These observations also reveal striking connections\nbetwe
en colloidal self-assembly and collective dynamics\, and between\ndynamic
 behavior and classical thermodynamics.\n\n[1] J. Yan\, M. Bloom\, S.C. Bae
