DESCRIPTION:We introduce a set of pseudo-observables (PO)\, defined from t
he on-shell amplitudes\, characterising the properties of Higgs decays in
generic extensions of the Standard Model with no new particles below the H
iggs mass. These provide a systematic generalisation of the kappa framewor
k used by the LHC experiments. The PO allow for a systematic inclusion of
radiative corrections. Symmetries of the new-physics sector\, such as CP i
 nvariance\, lepton-universality\, and custodial symmetry\, imply relations
among the PO\, which could be tested directly from Higgs data. The Higgs
PO can be matched to any effective theory\, in particular assuming the lin
ear EFT allows to derive strong predictions —due to LEP bounds— which
can be tested by Higgs data.
