DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will present a general correspondence which ass
 ociates a non-perturbative quantum mechanical operator to a toric Calabi-Y
 au manifold and I will propose a conjectural expression for its spectral d
 eterminant. As a consequence of these results\, I will derive an exact qua
 ntization condition for the spectrum of this operator.\nThis approach also
  provides a Fermi gas picture of topological strings\, which is non-pertur
 bative and background independent.\n\n
