DESCRIPTION:I will introduce the basic objects of study in moduli spaces a
 rising in complex dynamics\, such as Julia sets\, the Mandelbrot set\, and
  post-critically finite maps.  I will discuss the André-Oort phenomenon i
 n the dynamical setting as first studied by Baker-DeMarco.  Recently\, Ghi
 oca\, Nguyen\, Ye\, and myself proved a case of the dynamical André-Oort 
 conjecture\; I will discuss our work\, and why our proof includes an analy
 sis of the combinatorial structure of the Mandelbrot set.
