DESCRIPTION:The Executive Director of the Centre for the Study of Existent
 ial Risk\, a Cambridge University research centre that analyses extreme ri
 sks that may emerge from technological advances\, Dr Ó hÉigeartaigh has 
 managed a set of research projects at the Oxford Martin School and Future 
 of Humanity Institute\, and has a PhD in bioinformatics genome evolution f
 rom Trinity College Dublin - in essence\, this is a guy who knows his stuf
 f!\n\nHe'll be discussing possible long-run impacts and risks of artificia
 l intelligence\, as well as giving an overview of the Centre’s planned r
 esearch on extreme technological risk management more generally. As ever\,
  the talk is free and there will be the usual free wine and nibbles at the
  end\, so do come along!
