DESCRIPTION:Peter Fry\, Public Affairs Manager\, High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd 
 will speak about the proposed high-speed railway linking London and the No
 rth.\n\nThe proposed line will run between London Euston\, the Midlands\, 
 Yorkshire\, North West England\, and potentially North East England and Ce
 ntral Scotland. HS2 will revolutionise our railways\, create thousands of 
 jobs\, bring major cities closer together\, generate investment in neglect
 ed areas and provide passengers with an unprecedented travel experience\, 
 bringing the UK’s Victorian railway infrastructure dramatically into the
  21st century.\n\nPeter's talk will explain why HS2 is needed\, where it g
 oes\, what’s involved and where we are at the moment.\n\n*Peter Fry* is 
 currently Public Affairs Manager at HS2 Ltd\, the company taking forward t
 he planning and delivery of the new high speed railway line. Peter previou
 sly worked on the Crossrail and Thames Tideway Tunnel programmes.  He has 
 a comprehensive knowledge of major infrastructure projects and the multi-l
 ayered consultation and engagement required to promote their benefits thro
 ughout the consents process and beyond.\n\nDate: Wednesday 10th June 2015\
